Community Funding Day for Pontypridd and Taff Ely

I know from my work as the local MP that many local community voluntary groups and organisations have great ideas for projects but often have difficulty finding the right advice and funding.  That’s why, alongside our Assembly Member Mick Antoniw, I’m hosting a special advice surgery where local groups can discuss their project ideas and find out what funding is available.

The event takes place on Friday, 27 April from 1pm at St. Catherine’s Church, Pontypridd.  To book your space, please visit www.OwenSmithMP.co.uk/FundingDay.

Prize Giving at Y Pant

It was a real pleasure to attend last week’s prize giving evening at Y Pant and to see students well and truly settled to the newly redeveloped facilities thanks to over £24 million of funding from Labour-led RCT Council and the Welsh Labour Government.

Do you need help heating your home?

Following the recent period of cold weather, I know that many people across Pontypridd and Taff Ely will be struggling to keep their homes warm and pay energy bills.  That’s why I’m encouraging residents across to take five minutes to see whether you might be eligible for support from the Welsh Labour Government’s Nest programme.

Nest offers householders a range of free, impartial advice and support to help reduce energy bills and, for those who are eligible, a package of free home energy efficiency improvements, such as a new boiler, central heating or insulation.  To find out what support you may be eligible for, call Nest on 0808 808 2244 or visit www.nestwales.org.uk.

I’m always here to help

Don’t forget that I’m always available to assist local residents across the Pontypridd constituency.  I can be contacted by calling 01443 401122, emailing [email protected] or by visiting www.owensmithmp.co.uk.  You can also keep up-to-date on my work by following me on Twitter @OwenSmith_MP and at Facebook.com/OwenSmithMP.
