The design by class six pupil Katie Griffiths, of Maesybryn Primary School in Llantwit Fardre, has won Mick Antoniw and Owen Smith ‘s annual Christmas card competition – and her design will be sent across the area and beyond on cards sent by Pontypridd ‘s elected representatives.

Watched by her school friends, teachers and parents, Katie was presented with a signed copy of her winning design along with a gift voucher.

Her school also received a framed print of Katie’s winning design, which shows an angel standing above the word ‘peace’.

The design was chosen from hundreds of entries from a number of local schools.

Headteacher Simon Roberts said: ” We’re very proud that Katie’s design was chosen for this year’s Christmas card.
