Pontypridd’s Labour MP, a life-long Pontypridd RFC supporter and club ambassador, Owen Smith has paid a visit to Sardis Road to see the installation of the new 3G pitch.
The laying of the new surface follows complaints about the pitch back in early April.
Speaking from Sardis Road Owen Smith MP said:
“The past few months have been a trying time for the club and its legion of supporters.
“That the brand new, and, in my opinion, superior quality pitch is being installed at no cost to the club is due in no small part to exceptional work of club stalwarts Jack Bayliss and Peter Howells.
“The work is almost complete and will be ready for the start of the new Premiership campaign which kicks off at the end of this month.
“Personally I can’t wait for the new season. I’ve got a feeling that this is going to be a great year for Ponty.”
