Owen Smith and Mick Antoniw became posties for the morning at Pontypridd Sorting Office where they helped out during the busy Christmas period.
The pair arrived at the Royal Mail office bright and early to help sort the post before each going out with a post man on a delivery round in Pontypridd.
Their visit to the sorting office gave the MP and AM a chance to meet the post men and women to thank them for all their hard work they put in over the busy period and throughout the year.
Following the visit, Owen and Mick each shadowed a post worker to help with their delivery round; Owen and post man Nigel delivered around Trehafod and Mick postie David did Pontypridd town centre.
Commenting after the visit, Owen Smith said:
“It was great to meet the hard working post men and women at Ponty sorting office today and we are really grateful to them for the work they do all year round. It was a great opportunity to have the chance to work with Nigel on his delivery round and I’d like to thank him personally for showing me the ropes; it’s certainly not an easy job!”
Mick Antoniw added:
“I was delighted to have the chance to shadow a postie today, helping out on David’s round gave me an insight into just how hard our post men and women work, especially during this busy time. Their work is crucial for families to get post to and from their loved ones and I am really pleased to show my appreciation.”
