Terry Reece opened his doors on Church Street in Ponty for the first time last Saturday following the launch of his new shop in the town centre. Local MP Owen Smith officially opened the store and joined local musical talent in celebrating the launch of Terry’s Music Shop.
Terry has had a music stall in Ponty indoor market for 17 years but decided to take the plunge and set up a shop selling a range of musical items including instruments, vinyls, CDs and accessories.
Owen Smith opened the festivities by congratulating Terry on his hard work before listening to live acts singing and playing new and original music in the store.
Speaking after the event, Owen Smith MP said:
“I was delighted to open Terry’s Music Store on Saturday. It was a real pleasure to welcome a high quality independent music shop into Pontypridd town centre, we haven’t had anything like it in Ponty for a number of years despite our deep-set rock ‘n’ roll traditions locally. While I was there, the place was buzzing and I’m certain Terry will be catering for Ponty’s next generation of artists.”
Terry Reece added:
“I’m really pleased to launch my new shop in town and for Owen to officially open it. We had a fantastic day with a great variety of local musicians taking part in the celebrations, and I would like to thank everyone for their support in launching Ponty’s brand new independent music shop.”
