Labour MP Owen Smith has paid a visit to Pontypridd’s Town Bite ahead of the Big Welsh Bite which takes place in Pontypridd’s Ynysangharad War Memorial Park on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 August.
The Town Bite is supported by food businesses in Pontypridd who showcase their produce by offering free samples.
The Big Welsh Bite and Agricultural Show is organised by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and all produce available will be grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholders themselves, resulting in a scrumptious range of local produce.
Speaking from the Pontypridd Town Bite, Owen Smith MP said:
“Now into its fourteenth year, the Big Welsh Bite has become a key feature of the south Wales cultural calendar. The two-day event attracts visitors from far and wide to the wonderful Ynysangharad War Memorial Park.
“With the support of Your Pontypridd – our Business Improvement District – the Town Bite is the perfect way to encourage people to sample the culinary delights the town centre has to offer all year round.
“Whether you’re looking for amazing bakeries, relaxing cafés or just a wide range of fresh, delicious produce; Pontypridd has it all.
“I’m delighted to support this year’s event and I look forward to seeing the event go from strength to strength.”
